One of the issues facing restaurants all along the Garden Route of South Africa is the speed of service. Sometimes it’s dreadfully slow which if you're on hols maybe fine but on most other occasions is just a pain. Not so at 101 Meade. Tasty modern cuisine is served creatively, hot/fresh, with smiling face and in good time. The duck is excellent as is the tuna starter. Good reasonably priced wine list. Thoroughly recommend!
We had a wonderful Christmas meal. Each course was excellent and the presentation and various contents of each were first class and absolutely delicious. We all had a thoroughly relaxed and joyful time. The staff and services were also excellent as was the room in which we were seated and we shall certainly visit 101 again.
The food served at 101 Meade is exceptional. Not only the taste but the portion sizes are really good. I love the ambience of the New Look and feel. The staff are very friendly and they have a good wine selection and the Gin trolley is amazing. It is really worth a visit and one not to be missed in the Garden Route.
Google gave us a hint that we might like this place! So glad we listened! We were welcomed by friendly staff and our waitress made us feel welcome from stepping in the restaurant up until we paid our bill! What a pleasure. The food delicious, but slightly upmarket if you're looking for a quick lunch and you have a R50 in your pocket! Then this place might not be for you!
Their meals are served beautifully. So many flavours. Fine dining portions, yet fresh and tasty! Would love to come back to taste the meaty options! Well worth a visit!
I chose to fly to George for my birthday and dine at this restaurant because it's a firm favourite in my book! I love the cosy atmosphere, the food is impeccable (the succulent fillet steak with roast marrow bone is the best I have ever tasted!) the service is always incredible (especially Carmia who remembered us from our previous visit in March 2018!) and they are so friendly towards children. A special thanks to Shannon who gladly obliged in providing my toddler with his favourite meal of “sausages and chippies”, even though it was not on the menu! The manager is very welcoming and the chef and owner, Jeremy came over to say hello and is ever so gracious. A real little gem of a restaurant in George! Needless to say, I will definitely be back :-)
